Abhilasha Singh is a researcher and photographer based in Göttingen, currently pursuing an M.A. in Historical Sociology at the Centre for Modern Indian Studies, University of Göttingen. Her research interests include questions of political economy, transnational labour markets, and irregular migration, with an on-going thesis examining these dynamics between Punjab and Southern Italy. Her work has been recognised with an invitation to present at Historical Materialism London (2025), the DAAD Prize for Exceptional Social Commitment (2025), and the Niedersachsen Stipendium (2024).

She has a B.A. in Communication Studies, and has previously worked in communications at the U.S. Department of State, among other political, academic, and commercial organisations across India and Germany over the last eight years.

Her photographic practice returns to markets, infrastructure, and the texture of daily economic life.
